Janet Canter Obituary

Janet Dian Canter, 73, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away on May 4, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1949 in Warren County, Kentucky daughter of Hoye and Georgia (Mercer) Whitaker. Janet was a retired Lab Technician for University of Louisville and a dedicated worker. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, a good yard sale and traveling.

In addition to her parents Janet was preceded in death by her husband, James Carter; great grandchild, Payton Ballard; siblings, Clifton Whitaker and Shelvia Tedrow. She is survived by her daughters, Mindy Sparks(Kevin); Missy Ballard(Billy); brother; Bobby Whitaker, James Whitaker(Linda); six grandchildren, Austin Ballard, Bailey Miller, Charity Oldson, Shelby Oldson, Hannah Sparks, Ethan Sparks; three great grandchildren; Bryslyn Miller, Benson Miller, Brooklynn Ballard along with many close friends.

Cremation was chosen and entrusted with Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
