James “Jim” McChesney Lynch, 82, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on September 26, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1938 in Jeffersonville, Indiana son of the late James McChesney Sr. and Charline (Hertzsch) Lynch. Jim was a 1956 graduate of Jeffersonville High School and was a Terminal Manager for 48 years at a trucking company founded by his grandfather. After retiring he then worked for Jacobi Sales with his family and was a valuable asset to the company. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana , an Army National Guard veteran and board member of the Clarksville Historic Society. Jim was a tech savvy person and a great handy man and enjoyed going on afternoon drives, river watching, model cars and loved his family very much.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jo Hobbs. He is survived by his loving wife, Venita M. (Banet) Lynch; daughter, Leigh Ann Jacobi (Brian); son, David Lynch (Rebecca); sister, Petsy Thacker; son-in-law, Ronnie Hobbs; grandchildren, Brittany and Bradley Hobbs, Dr. Nicholas Lynch and Jonathan Lynch, Brianna and Natalie Jacobi and great grandson, Easton Hobbs; and his faithful companion, Tucker.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4-8pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. His Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 1 2021 at 11AM with visitation before from 10-11AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 315 East Chestnut St. Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
