James Lee Rainey

James Lee Rainey, age 72, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on May 13, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born on June 16, 1952, to the late Joseph McCray and Pearl Jeter. James proudly served his country as a United States Marine and carried the values of service and strength with him throughout his life.

A spirited man with a love for football and dancing, James was known for his infectious sense of humor and ability to bring laughter to any room. He deeply loved his family and cherished time spent with those he held dear.

James will be remembered as a proud veteran, a joyful soul, and a man whose heart was as big as his smile.

James is survived by his siblings; Juanita Parker, Sharon Rainey, Laura Anderson, Princess Rahaman, Terry Rainey, Ardis Rainey, Varnell Rainey, Larry Clark, Richard Clark; along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on May 24, 2025 from 11-1pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
