James Anthony Pierce, 45, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on February 22, 2026, in his hometown of Louisville.
Born on July 11, 1980, in Louisville, Kentucky, James was the beloved son of Darrell Pierce and Pam Pierce. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and grandfather whose love for his family was evident in all that he did.
James is survived by his parents, Darrell Pierce and Pam Pierce; his step-mother, LeAnn Pierce; his brother, Darrell Pierce; his children, Amber Leffler, Grant McKinnon (Mary), Hunter Pierce (Daniel) and Meadow Pierce (Steven); and his cherished grandchildren, Aubree, Jr. Eli, Iz’Ryel, and Ryleigh. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Stillwell, and his step-siblings, Erica, Damon, and Glenn; and his nephews, Mason and Kaden, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kim Stillwell; his son, Jacob Stillwell; and his brother-in-law, Steve Lewis.
James had a great love of animals and always found a friend in them. He could always be found playing video games or watching his favorite sports and basketball games. James will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strength through life’s challenges, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center - Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40203. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
