James Edward Newsom, 73, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on June 25, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on August 15, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of Melvin and Fern Newsom.
For 40 years James traveled to churches, prisons, and schools teaching and impacting wherever he went. His love for Jesus was infectious and he enjoyed sharing it with others. In addition to spiritual ministering, he also exemplified biblical teachings through boundless generosity. James was a member of New Life Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
As well as being a gifted storyteller, he had a passion for golfing, mowing his lawn, and was a beloved movie enthusiast. Above all, James’ favorite time was sharing precious memories with his family. He will be remembered for love of the gospel, warmth, humor and his zest for life.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Newsom. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Diane Newsom; daughter, Jessica Michal(Nick); son, Jason Newsom(Sachin Kumar); brothers, Wayne Newsom(Suki), Melvin Newsom(Daria); sister in law, Maria Newsom; uncle "who was like a father", James Waddell; along with 2 grandchildren, Ronan James Michal, Riker Joseph Michal.
There will be a Celebration of Life for James held on August 10th, 2024 at 11 am at New Life Church.
