Jacquelyn Grimes Obituary

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Faye Grimes, 84, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on October 27, 1936 in Flatlick, Kentucky to the late Grady William and Ruby Marie (Tuggle) Cunningham. Jackie was a very talented and caring homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her loving family, especially her famous chicken n dumplings and chocolate pies. She was a professional seamstress, self-made carpenter, painter, decorator, and a just all around artistic-creative person who could pretty much do anything she set out to do. Jackie was a member at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana and loved her family gatherings, pets, and working out in the flower beds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Grimes; sons, David and Daughter-in-law Rachel, Kenneth “Billy” Grimes; brother, David Cunningham; great-granddaughter, Katie. Jackie is survived by her son, Ronny Grimes(Mary); sister, Sharon Hurst(Ed); along with 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 10-1pm with service to follow at Legacy Funeral Center at 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Burial will be at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
