Jacqueline "Jackie" Stinson, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 18, 2024, in Louisville. She was born on October 18, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Juanita McMurtry.
Jackie retired from the U.S. Census Bureau after many dedicated years of service and later retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1994. She was a proud member of St. Stephens Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where her faith played an integral role in her life.
Jackie found joy in walking and was passionate about participating in marathons. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by those she leaves behind.
A service to honor and celebrate Jackie's life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Jackie's kind spirit, dedication, and love for her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita McMurtry; brother-in-law, Dennis Gardner; granddaughter, Jarren.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Stinson; sister, Karen Gardner, brothers, David McMurtry(Valerie), Albert McMurtry; 3 grandchildren, Jordan West(Kirby), Melia Gilbert, Kieya Stinson; along with 5 great grandchildren, Avaunna Stinson, Kendall Davidson, Wynter Davidson, Luna West and Vayda West; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
