Idelaida Viamontes Socarras, age 59, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on October 7, 1965, in Camagüey, Cuba, she was the beloved daughter of Ada Socarras and the late Aurelio Viamontes.

Idelaida was a calm and loving soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She worked for many years as a dedicated warehouse employee and was known by those around her for her kind heart and gentle spirit. A lover of dancing and bright colors—especially yellow—Idelaida was happiest in the earlier days of her life when surrounded by music, family, and love.

She was deeply devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her loving mother, Ada Socarras; her two children, Jarol Fernandez (Melissa Bermudez) and Yulisan Fernandez (Javier Lopez); and four cherished grandchildren: Addiel, Jayden, Jadiel, and Thaymi. She is also survived by her sister, Iraida Viamontes; her brother, Aranis Viamontes; the father of her children, Jose Fernandez; and her significant other, Jorge Martinez.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning during that time, at Legacy Nunnelley Chapel Funeral Home, located at 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY 40215. The family has chosen cremation to follow.

Idelaida will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, her radiant smile, and the unwavering love she had for her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Idelaida fue un alma tranquila y amorosa que encontró alegría en las cosas simples de la vida. La familia recibirá a familiares y amigos en una visita conmemorativa el jueves 18 de septiembre de 2025, desde las 1:00 p.m. hasta las 5:00 p.m., durante la cual se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo, en la funeraria Legacy Nunnelley Chapel, ubicada en 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY 40215. La familia ha elegido la cremación posteriormente.
