Howard Dean Lyttle, 77, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away in the early morning hours of May 20th. Dean was born May 20, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky, to parents Woodard Lyttle, Sr and Zilpha (Dunnigan) Lyttle.

Dean devoted his life to family and service. He faithfully served his country for 25 years in the United States Army, completing two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Before retiring from the armed forces, Dean was an accomplished First Sergeant, leading and directing specialized maintenance. As a member and church Elder at Stony Point Christian Church, his life was guided by his unshakeable faith.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene Keith; and brother, Woodard Lyttle, Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are beloved wife, Brenda (Viers) Lyttle; daughter, Matisa “Tisa” Haney (Travis); grandchildren, Josh Windham (Mia), and Ramsey Haney; and great-grandchild, Sapphira Windham.

Memorial visitation will be held at Legacy Scott Chapel (921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, IN) on Friday May 29, from 10:00AM – 1:00PM. A memorial service with Pastor Tim Anderson presiding will follow visitation, at 1:00PM. Dean will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
