A devoted homemaker, Helen found joy in life’s simplest pleasures—sitting outside, cooking for loved ones, gathering around a firepit, and spending time camping in nature. She had a deep love for animals and cared for two cherished birds, Alice and Tom, and her precious dog, Deebo, who brought her years of companionship.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Hatcher; two sons, James Allen Wilson and Lil Jesse Hatcher; her sister, Jo Ann Spurgeon; and her brother, William Wilson.
She is survived by her loving sons: Dougy Hatcher, William Wilson (Brandy), Killus Wilson (Michelle), and Joseph Wilson (Tabbitha). Helen was a proud grandmother to Breanna (Jay), Victoria (Jenaro), Austin, Autumn, Ashton, Aspyn, Ashley (Preston), another Austin, Abbygail, Kaydance, and Alissa. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Aries, Zeniyah, and Jenaro Jr., who brought her endless joy.
Helen’s memory will also be cherished by her sister Diane (Danny); nieces Chastity and Wanda; nephew Gerald Roach; great-nephews Cody and Samuel; cousin Glenn Sherman; and her dear boyfriend, Jimmy Owens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Legacy Nunnelley Chapel Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with burial at St. Stephens Cemetery.
