Hedwig "Hedi" Goodwin

Hedwig “Hedi” Goodwin, 86, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her home. Hedi was born on March 29, 1935 in Mertesheim, Germany the daughter of the late Hans and Emmy ( Dertwinkel) Schmitt. She retired from Keebler Company in Louisville, Kentucky after many years of dedicated service. Hedi also worked after retirement for Clark County Hospital as a receptionist and worked with Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana and enjoyed volunteer work, playing Bunco and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents Hedi was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice Goodwin; sister, Hilda Woweries. She is survived by her sons; Richard and Peter Goodwin; grandchildren, Katherine (Dakota), Joshua (Vicky), Zacheriah “Zack” and great-grandchild, Elizabeth “Eliza”.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 from 9-10:45 AM with service to follow at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1840 E. 8th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
