Harry F. Vories, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026.
Born on July 3, 1929, in Carrollton, Kentucky, Harry was the son of the late Robert F. Vories and Mary Corn Vories. He lived a long and meaningful life defined by dedication to his family, his work, and his community.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johann Vories, and his parents. He is survived by his loving children: Vicki May (James), Michele Vories, Chris Vories (Anita), Stephen Vories (Martha), Paul Vories (Tammy), and Valerie Waters (Tony). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as his brothers, Robert Vories (Lola) and David Vories, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Harry devoted 42 years of service to Emery Airfreight at the Louisville airport, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of his career, he gave generously of his time to others. He served for many years as a Boy Scout leader, helping guide and mentor young people, and worked as a bus driver for church, always ready with a friendly smile and helping hand.
A man of faith and community spirit, Harry was deeply involved with Holy Rosary, where he ran bingo games for many years, bringing joy and connection to countless participants. He was also an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball, rarely missing a game and proudly cheering on his team.
Harry found great happiness in simple pleasures, especially fishing on his parents’ three ponds, where he spent many peaceful hours. He loved to tease those around him—especially his grandchildren—creating memories filled with laughter that will endure for generations.
