George Francis “Bud” Routon, 97, passed away on November 6, 2021. He was born in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky on June 13, 1924 to the late Clarence Ray and Sara Elizabeth (Cordier) Routon. Bud is predeceased by son, Richard “Rick” Routon and two sisters, Anna Pearl DiBlasi and Barbara Jean Bellar.
Bud was a member of the Cloverleaf Baptist Church, a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a longtime member of the Suburban Masonic Lodge, and retired from the U.S. Naval Ordnance Station and Cave Hill Cemetery.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edith Carpenter Routon; son, Paul Andrew Routon (Debbie); daughter-in-law, Nancy Routon; grandsons, Michael Routon, and Paul Routon Jr. (Nicki); two great-granddaughters, Adelyn and Lilly Routon; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. George Francis “Bud” Routon will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11 AM at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky 40215. Visitation will be held on from 3 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, with a Masonic Service at 6 PM, at the funeral home. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
