George B. Roberts, 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Union, Kentucky. He was born on December 6, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to Myron E. and Alliene V. Roberts. George was a graduate of Louisville Male High School, class of 1961, and later achieved his Master of Arts degree from Murray State University and his PhD in Management from McGill University. He was also an aviation officer in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Never one to let the ground settle beneath his feet, George was always looking for his next adventure. He spent time as a professor at Southwest Texas State University, a Quality Assurance Director at Bohn Heat Transfer in Danville, Illinois, Principal at Rock Christian Academy, Quality Assurance Engineer-Manager of Production Quality at Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois and Quality Assurance-Manager of Quality at GE in Louisville, Kentucky. George lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Myron E. Roberts and Alliene V. (Wiles) Roberts; and his wife, Elizabeth Ann Roberts.
Left to cherish his memory, George leaves behind his wife, Jackie Bennett-Roberts; 2 children, Michelle Anderson of East Peoria, Illinois, and Byron Roberts (Debbie) of Union, Kentucky; 2 step children, Jeff Bennett (Liz), and Jennifer Bennett; 8 grandchildren, Tyler Roberts (Blake), Hannah Hill (Ryan), Kelsey Anderson, Katy Anderson, William Anderson V, Natalie Breidel, Zoe Bennett, and Jentry Myers; 4 great grandchildren, Arrow Roberts, Story Roberts, Erabella Doerr, and one on the way, Baby Hill; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service for Mr. George B. Roberts will be held at 10 AM on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery will follow the service.
