Gene Alan Richie, 77, passed away at home and entered Eternal Life Friday, September 15, 2023.
Gene was born in Haubstadt, Indiana to the late Virgil and Alta Richie. He was a longtime member of the NRA and staunch protector of the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution. He worked as a vibration analysis technician for Kentuckiana Balancing Company and was a member of Evangel Tabernacle. Gene was known to be a country music enthusiast, hot rod fanatic, and embraced excellence in every area of his personal and professional life.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rena Baugh Richie; children, Lonnie Allen Richie and Cindy Melaine Miller (John); grandchildren, Jeremiah Richie, Joshua Richie, Josiah Richie, Jacob Richie, Bryleigh Hanks, Margie VanCleave, Savannah Shipley; great-grandchildren, Dean Richie, Cody Richie, and Ezra Shipley; sister, Joyce Penner (Jack); many nieces and nephews; and his beloved, Tawana Couch-Edwards.
Visitation will be 12-5 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street – Jeffersonville. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at a later date.
