Gary Lee Bower, 74, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away at his home with his family by his side on March 22, 2024. He was born on May 29, 1949 in New Albany, Indiana son of William and Dorothy Bower. Gary retired from The Census Bureau in Jeffersonville after 38 years of dedicated service.
Gary found joy in working on his beloved ’69 Torino GT, pouring his passion into every detail and was an avid IU basketball fan. He also enjoyed watching hours of the History Channel along Mecum Auto Auctions and was considered to be a “ TV Buff”. Above all Gary cherished moments with his family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his step father, Charles “ Shorty “ Brameier.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gwinda Bower; sons, Michael Martin Warren Bower(Becka), Aaron Allan Bower(Lillian); siblings, Jerry Bower(Paula), Sherry Wilson, Kerry Suzanne Begley, Mary Ellen Baynes; 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Catherine, Zach, and 1 great grandchild, Grayson Anthony Warren Schultz; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4-5pm with service to follow at 5pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
