Franklin "Frankie" D. Shanklin, Sr

Franklin Delano “Frankie” Shanklin, Sr., 79, of Louisville, KY passed away on December 27, 2019.  Frankie loved fishing and hunting. He was a talented musician, a gifted and a faithful friend. More than anything, he was a loving and devoted father.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Shanklin, Sr; mother, Mary Cole; brothers, Paul and Jerry Shanklin and sister, Shelby Priddy.

Frankie is survived by his children, Frankie Shanklin, Jr, Tracey “Beezer” Shanklin, Anita Shanklin and Teresa Cole; 12 grandchildren; 18 great –grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Shanklin, Jr; sisters, Betty (Berto) Corral, Julia Cole and Roberta (Vester) Green and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 11am-1pm at Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, KY, with a celebration of Frankie’s life beginning at 1pm.  

Burial will follow at Nonesuch Cemetery, in Nonesuch, KY.
