Frankie Morgan Paxton, Jr., age 57 of New Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, surrounded by his sons, Tyler & Gavin, and Amber and Rhonda.

From a young age, Frankie dedicated his life to the McCulloch Volunteer Fire Department #4011. What began as a commitment to serving his community became a lifelong passion and a true family affair.  Frankie gave countless years of his heart and time to the department, and to many, he will forever be known simply as “4011.” His dedication, friendship, and service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra and Frank Paxton, Sr.; and his grandparents, Louise and John Greenwell & Theodore and Francis Paxton.

He is survived by his two sons, Tyler Paxton and Gavin Paxton (Amber); and his best ex-wife ever, Rhonda Vibbert. He also leaves behind countless friends and fellow firefighters who became family throughout his life.

Frankie will be cremated.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Scott Chapel, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Frankie’s name to your local animal shelter or to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Fund.

Frankie’s life was one of service, family, friendship, and dedication. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory—and the spirit of “4011”—will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
