Frances O’Hare Davis, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away with grace, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, devotion, and kindness. Born on August 25, 1948, she made her home in Jeffersonville, Indiana from the 1970s onward, where she built a life rooted in service, faith, and community.
Frances dedicated her professional life to public service through her work with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), from which she later retired. Her commitment to helping others extended far beyond her career. She was a longtime and faithful member of Wall Street United Methodist Church and an active member of the VFW in Jeffersonville, where she formed lasting friendships and touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bernard Dotson O’Hare Sr. and Dolly Smith O’Hare. Frances is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Laurie O’Hare (Joseph Diersing); her adored granddaughter, Olivia O’Hare Diersing; her sister, Billie Bubala (John); her brother, Bernard O’Hare Jr. (Galia); and her nieces and nephew, Vera, Dolly, and Alex.
Frances will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, her resilience, and the deep love she carried for her family. She found joy in simple moments and brought comfort to those around her with
her steady presence and love for conversation. Her daughter extends heartfelt gratitude to Hosparus of Southern Indiana and Charlestown Place for their compassionate care, as well as to Frances’s wonderful neighbors, Kathy Hadley and Kim Branham, and to her former husband, Terry Davis, for their kindness and support.
A reception in honor of Frances’s life will be held at Legacy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Friday, May 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
