Ellis Glenn Ward, 66, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 16, 2021 at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Glenn was born to the late Richard Hobart Ward and Violet Lucille Ward on April 27, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a very dedicated, hardworking man who never took a day off. Glenn was stubborn and liked to live life the way he wanted, but was also caring and loving. He could often be found lending a helping hand to Toys for Tots and the Crusade for Children. Glenn was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He loved going on rides with his friends and family on his Harley Davidson and hanging out with his buddies at the Steel Horse Saloon. Glenn enjoyed hunting, camping, collecting guns and knives and listening to “Outlaw Music”, as he called it. Some of his favorites include the Best of the Bluegrass, Lynyrd Skynyrd and David Allan Coe. In his down time, he like to watch Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Nascar. The Daytona 500 was his favorite track and Dale Earnhardt Sr. his favorite driver. Glenn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ellis Glenn Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Violet Ward.
Left to cherish his memory, Glenn leaves behind his loving wife, Sherry Ward; 2 children, Cory Ward and Kelsey Glynn Buckingham (Jacob); a sister, Judy Ward; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Ellis Glenn Ward will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 and prior to the service from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, at the funeral home. Burial at Resthaven Memorial Park will follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made in Glenn's name to Toys for Tots, Crusade for Children or the Kentucky Humane Society.
