Ellis James Durkalski, age 84, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana.
Born on October 8, 1940, he was the beloved son of Cecil and Margaret Hargis. A devoted family man and a master carpenter by trade, Ellis was known for his remarkable craftsmanship, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

In addition to his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Durkalski; son, Ellis James Jr.; daughter, Vanessa Mattingly; siblings, Bob and Paul Durkalski. He is survived by his loving daughters, Theresa Brooks(Adam), Rhonda Goforth(Jeff); 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Wertz(Gary), Jason Mattingly(Brandi), Jayme Feller; along with 3 great grandchildren, Luke, Logan, Landon and one on the way.
