Elaine Karen Downing

Elaine Karen Downing, 71, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Elaine was born in Plymouth, Indiana on June 10, 1953, the fifth of seven siblings born to Carl & Pauline Houin.

In 1971, Elaine met Terry J. Downing. They dated for the next year and married on July 15, 1972, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana. They have two sons, Matthew J. born on February 18, 1975, and Chad W. born on November 26, 1978. Matthew married Krista Young. They have 3 children, Alexis, CJ, and Jordan and they reside in Atlanta, Georgia. Chad married April McCubbins. They have 2 children, Lucas and Isabella and they reside in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Visitation will be at Legacy Funeral Home. 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, IN on Wednesday, September 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and again at St. Michael Catholic Church, 612 N Walnut St, Plymouth, IN on Friday, September 6 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with her funeral Mass at 12:00. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
