Edward Eugene McKee Jr., 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was born on June 15, 1954 to Edward Eugene McKee Sr. and Istie Marie Crisp in Bainbridge, Maryland. Ed was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1972. After graduation, he spent time living in Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Georgia. Ed loved spending time with his family, especially shooting pool and playing cards. He was a life-long drywaller and later in life was the owner of Kentuckiana Drywall. In his spare time, Ed loved reading books, following and debating politics, playing Chess tournaments online and following his favorite sports teams. He loved music, nature, fishing and going to the beach. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Eugene McKee Sr. and Istie Marie Crisp; and a sister, Diana Gail McKee.
Left to cherish his memory, Ed is survived by 4 sons, Edward Grover Brandenburg III, Shane Michael Brandenburg, Richard Todd Brandenburg, and Keith Russell McKee; 4 siblings, Kenneth Wayne McKee, Shirley Marie Beaty, David Alan McKee, and Michael Paul McKee; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation for Mr. Edward Eugene McKee Jr. will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11 AM to 4 PM at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky.
