Eddie Mae Shure, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love and legacy of a life well lived.

Born in Magnolia, Mississippi, Eddie was the cherished daughter of the late Herman and Lillie Tillman. She carried with her throughout her life the values of faith, compassion, and devotion to family that would become the foundation of her remarkable journey.

Eddie was a faithful and beloved member of Christ Gospel Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Alongside her beloved husband, Bill Shure Jr., she dedicated many years to ministry, serving the Lord and sharing His love with countless members of the congregation and community. Their partnership in faith touched many lives, and even after Bill's passing in 1991, Eddie remained steadfast in her commitment to God and her church family.

Above all else, Eddie treasured her family. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and proud great-grandmother whose warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love created a lasting foundation for generations to come. Her gentle spirit, encouraging words, and caring heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Michelle Beckwith; her grandchildren, Richard E. Williford (Julie), Jessica Shure, Stephanie Powell, Stacey Anderson, Rebekah Anderson, and Elisabeth Honea; and 16 beloved great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Shure Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Eddie's life from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Funeral services honoring Eddie's life and faith will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial to follow at New Albany National Cemetery.

The family has entrusted arrangements to Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana.
