Douglas "D.R." Ray Emberton, Sr

Douglas Ray (D.R.) Emberton, 82, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021. Doug was a retiree from Phillip Morris after 36 years of service and veteran who served in the US Army.

Doug was born on May 22, 1938, in Tompkinsville, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence and Orpha Ellen (Proffitt) Emberton; 12 siblings- brothers, Guydell, Clifford, Manche, Fontis, Kermit, Jimmie and Louis Emberton; sisters, Alyne Ford, Agnes Proffitt, Naomi Lloyd-Embry, Lucy Bowles-Gleason and Isabelle Gill.  Doug was the last surviving of the 13 children. 

Doug is survived by his son, Douglas Emberton Jr; grandson, Zachary Emberton; daughter, Linda Eizenstat; son, Richard (Tami) Coogle; grandchildren, Annie Eizenstat, Robert (Stacy), Brandon (Jennifer) Coogle; 5 great grandchildren and loved by many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2021, at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY from 10am-11am with funeral services beginning at 11am.

Doug will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens-West.
