Dorothy K. Thompson

Dorothy K. Thompson, age 92, passed away on December 25, 2025. She was born on May 22, 1933, in Adair County, Kentucky, to the late Lawrence Beatty and Nora Allen Beatty.

Dorothy worked as a cashier for an auction company for many years. She enjoyed playing darts, softball, and bowling, watching game shows, and spending time partying and socializing with friends and family. She was known for her fun-loving spirit and love of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jeanette Justice; brothers, Cecil Beatty and Donald B. Beatty; her son, Delbert Davidson Jr.; her husband, Bernie Thompson; her grandson, James "Jim" Davis; and her special friend, James Poston.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Davis (Jerry) and Charlene Joy Hatfield; her grandsons, Jeremy Russell, Jason Russell Jr., Israel Davidson (Patricia), and Jerry R. Davis, Jr.; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, January 3, at Legacy Nunnelley Chapel Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY 40215.

The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
