Dorothy Ann Galliher, age 93, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024. Born on May 21, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Earl and Mildred Hoot.
Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and caregiver who dedicated her life to her family with boundless love and grace. A woman of strong faith, she was a longtime member of The Nazarene Church in Dellroy, Ohio, where she cherished fellowship and spiritual community.
Dorothy had a zest for life and many talents. In her earlier years, she was a professional roller skater, a unique passion that highlighted her vibrant spirit. She also excelled in creative endeavors, including cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, and gardening, cultivating her flowers with care and artistry. Known as a master bread baker, Dorothy delighted her loved ones with her culinary creations. She also enjoyed bowling, where her competitive spirit and sense of fun shone brightly.
Dorothy will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In addition to her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Galliher; her sisters, Mary Alice Johnino, Patricia “Patti” Hull; brother, Richard Hoot. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Galliher, Rhonda Neal; step son, Ronnie Galliher(Jeanne); step daughters, Diana Emery(Mike), Eric Galliher(Susan); brothers, Joe “Butch’ Hoot, Bill Hoot; along with 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
