Doris J. (Hatfield) Kenney

Doris J. Kenney, 84, passed away, Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. 

Doris was born September 14, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Virgil and Anna (Bowman) Hatfield. Doris Jean Kenney ran the food and clothing pantry at Dwelling Place Ministries for thirteen years. She never met a stranger, and was deeply loved by the New Albany community. She ran her own shop called "Jeanie's Collectables" for seven years. She was an awesome mom, and best friend to all of her children. She dearly loved her three brothers and one sister. Doris was known for her beautiful eyes and smile. She will always be remembered and missed by her family and the people who knew her.  

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton W. Kenney;  son, Stephan Kenney; two brothers, Thomas and Louis Kenney; and one sister, Barbara Hatfield. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Sheila Marie Hunt (Victor);Gerald Wayne Kenney (Janel); and Raven Skelton (Stephen); two brothers, James R. Hatfield (Catherine) and Robert Hatfield; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her caregivers were her daughter, Raven Skelton and her two granddaughters, Cheyenna and Savannah Skelton. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 P.M. at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
