Doretta Mae Elswick Obituary

Doretta Mae Elswick, 64, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on September 5, 1961, Doretta lived a life marked by warmth, laughter, and a deep love for those around her.

Doretta found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether she was playing a lively game of bingo or poker, casting a line while fishing, enjoying a day on the golf course, or expressing her creativity through crafts, she embraced each moment fully. She was especially known for her cooking, which brought family and friends together and created lasting memories around the table. Above all, Doretta’s greatest love was her family, who were the center of her world and the source of her pride and happiness.

She is survived by her loving son, Ronnie Stevens (Cynthia); loving father of her children, Ronald Stevens, her cherished grandchildren, Shane and Joshua; and her beloved siblings, Dinah, Bubby, Darlene (Billy), Debbie (Kenny), and Delmira. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will remember her kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Doretta was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Delpha Elswick, and her son, Joey Stevens, whom she held close in her heart always.
