Donnie Franklin Bishop Sr.

Donnie Franklin Bishop Sr., 54, passed away, Wednesday, December 8, 2021. 

Donnie was born April 10, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky to Johnnie Bishop and Bonnie (Corn) Smith. Donnie was a employee of Ace Hardware Store; he enjoyed serving his community at the hardware store. He was a member of Shawnee Baptist Church, enjoyed wrestling, watching Nascar and going to the casino. He will be greatly missed by all his family , friends and his Portland community. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Bishop; step-father, Jim "Marvin" Smith; brother, John Bishop Smith; and grandparents, Earl and Blanche Corn. 

Survivors include two sons, Donnie F. Bishop Jr., Jacob F. Bishop (Renee); two step-sons, Matt and William Cothern; three daughters, Amber Issac (Daniel), Brandie Bishop, Christina Brown; step-daughter, Destiny Mellick; mother, Bonnie Smith ( Talbert Milbert); his twin brother, Ronnie Bishop (Stacie Napier); two sisters, Faith Dunaway (Jenn MIller), Kim Bishop; companion for 11 years, Ashley Vincent; and thirteen grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 16th, 2021 from noon-8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 17th, 2021 from 10:00- 11:30 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
