Donald Ray Carey

Donald Ray Carey, 56, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2023. 

He was born September 21, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Donald Thomas Carey and Brenda Faye Black. He was a self-employed painter. Donald enjoyed playing the Kentucky Lottery, he bought Mega Millions & Pick 3 tickets; he also enjoyed gambling. When he was younger he enjoyed traveling. Donald would give you the shirt off his back ( even though it may have paint on it), he was a ladies man, and he would take in stray dogs and give them love. His family will remember how he was the life of the party ,he was funny and a "class clown". He was a great father and "Pops". Donald will be missed by all who knew him. 

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Catherine Rice.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Christine Denise (Stewart) Carey ; four children, Tessa Dawn Buntain, Misty Lee Buntain, Justin Ray Stewart (Elyssa) and Destiny Renee Stewart (Jon'Michael); nine grandchildren, Daylan, Shannon, Bradin, Jaxon, Layken, Lucie, Adalia, Julius and Roman on the way; brother, Willie Black (Kathy); two nieces, Stacy Tucker (Matt) and Keri Peach (Dennis); and nephew, Mark Kaltofen.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from Noon-7:00 p.m. with funeral services starting at 7:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street.
