Diane Carol (McWilliams) Cockerell

Diane C. Cockerell, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on January 9, 1962, to Buck and Patricia McWilliams in Louisville, Kentucky. Diane was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends, sitting around the bonfire and having cookouts. In her spare time, Diane loved travelling to Florida to visit family, and going to Deam Lake and Lake Jericho. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Diane is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Dwayne Cockerell; daughter, Brandy Cockerell; and her parents, Buck and Patricia McWilliams.

 Left to cherish her memory, Diane is survived by a son, Jacen Cockerell; 2 sisters, Vickie Tinnell, and Cindy Tinnell (Roger); brother, Danny Vaughn (Sue); brother-in-laws, Tim Cockerell (Karen) and Ernie Cockerell (Jenny); sister-in-law, Patricia Redfern (Bruce); 2 faithful companions, Blue, and Bruiser; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Diane Cockerell will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Shawnee Baptist Church, 2214 Bank Street, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 11 AM to 8 PM, at the funeral home, and prior to the service from 8:30 AM to 10 AM, at the church. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
