Delores Mae (Simmons) Williams, 71, passed away, Saturday, March 19, 2022.
She was born December 19, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Garf Simmons and Mary Broderick. Delores was a former employee of JCPS; where she was a cafeteria worker at Portland Elementary School for 15 years. She also was a former employee of Metro Parks and Recreation at Douglas Community Center and Williams Food Service. She was Catholic by faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, listening to the 50's and 60's music, some of her favorite artist are Bee Gees, Elvis and Frankie Valli. Delores was a crafting Queen, she enjoyed crochet, plastic canvas and embroidery. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them especially her grandchildren; she had a huge heart and was a giving person. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Arthur L. "Bud" Williams, Sr.; two sons, Arthur L. "Artie" Williams. Jr., James E. Williams (Ashley); brother, George E. Simmons (Barbara Allison); and two grandchildren, Ryleigh and Kaysen Williams.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street from Noon-2:00 p.m. with a memorial service held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
