Deborah "Debbie" Ann Rachford, age 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 8, 2025. She was born on September 14, 1949, in Louisville to the late Buster McDougale and Ida Mae Looney.
Debbie was a devoted homemaker who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with family and friends, playing dice, board games, and dominoes, making regular trips to the casino, and fishing alongside her beloved husband. She cherished the connections she built with those around her and will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and love of togetherness.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her brothers, Mitchel McDougale and Virgil Ray McDougale, and her sisters, Shirley Miles and Joyce Wells.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward L. Rachford, whom she married on November 2, 1996; her son, Jack McGill (Courtney); and her cherished granddaughter, Lakin Hall. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles McDougale (Lois), Steve McDougale (Sandy) and James McDougale (Pam); sisters, Charlotte Whalen and Jackie McDougale; and a host of nieces and nephews: Bunny, Missy, Laura, Billy, Bobby, Tommy, Teresa, Annett, Donna, Johnny, Mark, Kirk, Eric, Steven, Jacob, Jason, Buster, Bradley, Ricky, Nicholas, Tonya, Monica, and Joey.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Legacy Nunnelley Chapel Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Cremation will take place afterward, in accordance with Debbie’s wishes.
Debbie's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
