Deborah Braden Obituary

Deborah Delphine Braden was born in Columbia, Tennessee at the Maury County Hospital on November 6th, 1958 to the late Mr. Willie A. and Evelyn Crawley Braden. She was one of 7 children. She attended Sandy Hook Elementary School and Clarke High School in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

Deborah Delphine was baptized at a young age and the Lord was her crutch all thru her life.

Known as Delphine to her Tennessee family and as Ms. D. or Ms. Deborah to her Kentucky family, moved to Louisville in 1985, bringing her children to a better life.  Her sweet personality and big heart drew lots of people to her, making her the neighborhood mom in the Georgetown & Greystone Area.  The children made her home their home with her three children. Her house was always full.  She gained a lot of wonderful caring friends there also. She was an avid Pac-Man player during the early days and if you wanted to find her you would find her at the old laundry mat on the Pac-Man game, killing it. She never lost her country girl mentality.  Deborah worked many years for McDonald’s on Taylor Blvd.  She enjoyed her work there until her niece DeLisa stared a new In-Home care business, making her aunt Deborah her 1st employee.  She became a caregiver for a family with a quadriplegic son and the rest is history.  Deborah became a caregiver to Steven Moore and lived in the home with his family to care for him.  She called his parents Mom & Dad and they loved it.  She was with Steven thru the passing of both parents and continued to care for him until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Fleming; parents, Willie and Evelyn Braden; brothers, James Braden, Lucious Braden, and Edward Braden of Tennessee; and also her sister cousin, Joyce D. Duckworth.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Darnell Fleming (Tonya) and Darlene Fleming; 15 grandchildren; and 3 very special to her great-grand boys, they were her heart.  She also leaves her devoted sister, Marcella Spence (Bruce) of Louisville, KY.; loving brothers, Raymond Lee Braden (Eunice) of Columbia, TN and William “Buck” Braden of Louisville, KY; 5 nieces; 3 nephews; many cousins and Steven Moore, a brother in Christ whom she spent the last 15 years taking care of.

To say Deborah Delphine, Ms. D. will be missed is an understatement to those who loved her. She will be missed terribly.
