Daniel Wayne Wilson, 27, of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Daniel was born in Louisville to Danny and Renee Wilson. He was a devoted father, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Daniel was a passionate sports fan, proudly cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the UNC Tar Heels. He also cherished the friendships and fellowship he found within his Recovery I.C.E. House community. Daniel recently celebrated two years of sobriety, a milestone that reflected his strength, perseverance, and commitment to a better life. Those who knew him will remember not only the challenges he overcame, but the person he became along the way.

Above all, Daniel loved his children, Braylen and Haisleigh. They were a cherished part of his life and will forever carry his love with them.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pam and Nup Murphy and James and Norma Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Braylen Wayne Wilson and Haisleigh Renee Wilson; grandparents, Mary and Billy Frazier; brother, Nickolas Wilson; nieces, Hailey Wilson and Brooklynn Wilson; uncle, Darrell Wilson; his beloved fur baby, Bella; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Daniel’s life, though far too short, touched many people. His memory will live on through his children, his family, the friends who stood beside him, and the many lives he impacted throughout his journey.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center - Schoppenhorst, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services in honor of Daniel’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the funeral home, with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to make memorial donations directly to the funeral home to assist with Daniel’s final expenses.
