Da'Nyla Dominique Grinage

Da’Nyla Dominique Grinage, 12, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 19, 2021 with her family surrounding her. Da’Nyla was born on February 25, 2009 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ceria Reyes and Damion Grinage.  Nyla, as she was affectionately known, was a fighter.  She endured a long battle with cancer, and even as she fought, she remained positive and confident. As her pain increased, she was unbreakable.  Nyla was a beautiful soul and always reminded you how much she loved you.  She created bonds with people through her positivity and motivation.  Da’Nyla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Da’Nyla is preceded in death by her Godmother, Sheila Hardy.

Left to cherish her memory, Da’Nyla leaves behind her parents, Ceria Reyes and Damon Simpson; 3 siblings, Amorah Reyes, Da’Montay Grinage and Aamyah Reyes; grandparents, Connie Claypool and Ricardo and Saundra Reyes Sr.; uncles, Ricardo Reyes Jr. and Dominique Reyes; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service for Ms. Da’Nyla Grinage will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 12 PM at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Green Meadows Cemetery.
