Clifton Ray Whitmer, Jr., age 48, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 20, 2025. Born on December 31, 1976, he was the beloved son of the late Clifton Ray Whitmer, Sr. and Susan Gail Slinker.
Clifton was a hardworking construction worker who found joy in the simple things—riding dirt bikes, playing handball, and spending time outdoors. He was known for his love of dogs and his deep devotion to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Austin Whitmer, Sr.; his grandparents, Ray and Helen Whitmer; and his stepmother, Diana Whitmer.
Clifton is survived by his children, Kayla Smith (Donald Fawbush), Joshua Ray Whitmer and Lily Whitmer; and his cherished grandsons, Derek and Drake Fawbush. He is also survived by his stepbrother and stepsister, Michael Grater (Stacy) and Leesa Grater; his aunt, Susie Brentlinger (James); his nieces, Destiny Whitmer and Sierra Webb (Josh Burkes); and his nephew, Paul Whitmer, Jr.
Clifton’s family has chosen direct cremation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the love he gave freely to those around him.
