Claudean Sue Gilles

Claudean Sue Gilles, 78, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at Autumn Woods in New Albany, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Granite City, Illinois, Claudean was the cherished daughter of Claude Miller and Eleanor Creech.

Claudean was a devoted homemaker and caregiver who poured her love and energy into her family. Her selfless spirit and unwavering faith made her a true servant to both her loved ones and to Jesus. She had a gentle strength that comforted others, and she never wavered in putting the needs of those around her first.

Passionate about sharing the love of Christ, Claudean dedicated much of her life to teaching youth about Jesus. Her lessons, rooted in deep faith and compassion, left a lasting impact on many lives. She was also an avid reader, always seeking wisdom and insight, often found with a book in her hand and a heart open to learning.

Claudean’s legacy is one of love, faith, and service. Her nurturing presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gilles: grandson, Parker, .  Claudean is survived by her sons; Bobby Gilles(Kristen), Darrell Gilles(Trish), Scott Gilles(Emily); sister, Charlean Hawkins(Bill); along with 10 grandchildren, Garrett(Ashley), Logan, Caleb, Collin(Claire), Conner, Mia(Wyatt), Samuel, Stella, Lydiana, Makayla.and 3 Nephews.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 3-6pm with service to follow at 6pm at Legacy Funeral Center,  921 Main St, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.  Burial will be on Wednesday April 16, 2025  at 11am at Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison, IN.
