Clarence "C.C." Edward Skeens, age 71, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on August 10, 1953, to the late Edward and Jane Skeens, C.C. was a true Louisville legend. Known for his music, his warmth, and his ever-present smile, he brought light into every room and joy into every gathering. A gifted musician and a deeply kind soul, he dedicated his life to lifting others up with his words, his songs, and his unshakable spirit.
C.C. was the kind of person who never gave up. Through every setback, he persevered with grace, determination, and an open heart. He worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully—a true testament to resilience and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Pete Wimberley. He is survived by his son, Shaun Terry (Christy Prewitt); his grandchildren, Della Terry and Shaun Anthony Terry, Jr. (Maddie Chambliss); and his great-grandchildren, Mason Alexander Terry and Samari Anthony Terry. He also leaves behind his sister, Janice Wimberley Skeens, and cousin, Dee Wimberley.
The family has chosen cremation and will hold a celebration of life gathering at a later date, to be announced. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in honoring a life that touched so many.
C.C.’s legacy of love, music, and strength lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
