Cheri Merideth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 46.
Born on September 15, 1979, in Louisville, Kentucky, Cheri was known for her beautiful spirit, infectious smile, and loving heart. She lived life freely and fully, always bringing joy, laughter, and warmth to those around her. Cheri truly was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Her giving spirit and heart of gold touched countless lives.
Above all else, Cheri loved her family deeply and lived by the motto, “Family Over Everything.” She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and purpose. Cheri also found peace and beauty in nature, the moon, crystals, and energy, embracing the simple and spiritual things in life.
Cheri leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother and stepfather, Joyce Sanders and Donald “Hoosier” Campbell; her husband, James Merideth; her son, James Merideth, Jr.; her daughter, Cortnie Merideth; Son-In-Law, Jonathan “Butta” Locke; and her treasured grandchildren, James Merideth III, Malaki Merideth, Isabella Merideth, and Carter Merideth.
She is also survived by her sisters, Aleisha Propes, Terra Propes, and Amanda Propes; her aunts and uncles, Ronald Jackson, Sharon Surace, Lisa Propes, and Rita Jackson; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Cheri was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Challis and Juanita Jackson; her father-in-law, Ranzel “Pops” Merideth; and several other cherished family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help defray funeral expenses.
