Carol Durkalski, 81, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on February 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on November 30, 1943, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to the late Daniel Knear and Elsie (Bishop) Knear. Throughout her life, Carol was known for her dedication and hardworking spirit. She spent many years managing a Mini Self Storage business, where she earned the respect and admiration of all who knew her.
Above all, Carol cherished her time spent with family. She loved being surrounded by loved ones and was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity. In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed visiting the casino boat, watching westerns, playing cards, and her favorite TV show, Yellowstone.
Carol’s memory will be forever treasured by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and a true passion for enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
In addition to her parents, Carolwas preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Mattingly; son, Ellis James Jr. Durkalski; siblings, Donald Knear, Wanda Mobley, Linda Essary.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ellis J. Durkalski; daughters, Theresa Brooks(Adam), Rhonda Goforth(Jeff); a sister, Diane Shoots; along with 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Wertz(Gary), Jason Mattingly(Brandi), Jayme Feller; and 3 great grandchildren, Luke,Logan and Landon.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 4-8pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Her Funeral will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 12pm with more visitation before from 10am to 12pm at Legacy Funeral Center.
