Brittany Ruby Wilson, 43, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Louisville, KY. She was born on December 3, 1980, to Eugene and Alvina Wilson in Louisville, KY. Brittany was a vibrant soul whose warmth and joy touched everyone she met. A devoted mother, Brittany cherished her daughter Sophie above all else. They shared countless adventures together, from beach vacations to simple afternoons at the pool. Brittany’s love for traveling was evident in her frequent trips to the beach, especially the Caribbean, where the sun and sea brought her immense joy.

Known for her ability to keep a conversation lively, Brittany was truly the life of any gathering. Her kind and caring nature made everyone feel special and loved. Whether she was grilling a feast, exploring the country’s car shows with her boyfriend, or diving into a pool with Sophie and her cousin Quentin, Brittany’s zest for life was unmistakable.

Music was another passion of hers, finding joy in a variety of styles. She found great pleasure in movies and loved the challenge of a good game of Trivial Pursuit, which showcased her sharp mind and playful spirit. Brittany’s passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the laughter she shared, the kindness she showed, and the countless special moments she created with those she loved.

Brittany Ruby Wilson will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Brittany is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Wilson; 2 grandmothers, Lois Wilson, and Barbara Welty; aunt, Sheila Gatling; and a brother, Virgil Eugene Wilson.

Left to cherish her memory, Brittany is survived by her beautiful daughter, Sophie Clark; mother, Alvina Wilson; cousin/brother from another mother, Quentin Lane; 2 aunts, Bobbie Bosco, and Dawn McCready; cousin, Wesley Gatling; boyfriend, Derrick Townsend; many cousins; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Ms. Brittany Wilson will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY.
