Brian Franklin Patton, 34, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed into the arms of our Holy Father on August 20, 2025. Born on April 12, 1991, in Forest City, Arkansas, Brian lived a life marked by deep compassion, unwavering service, and quiet strength.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Brian served his country with honor, courage, and dedication. His heart for others extended far beyond the battlefield—he was a true servant in every sense, never hesitating to offer a hand, a word of encouragement, or a shoulder to lean on.
Brian was a devoted member of Southeast Christian Church, where he found community and spiritual strength. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and it guided him through both his brightest moments and most difficult trials.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah J. Patton, whose life he filled with joy, laughter, and deep, abiding love. Brian was the cherished son of Yvette and Chris Patton, and a beloved brother to Chris Varner. He also leaves behind his grandparents Lyndell and Barbara Carder, and grandmother Mary Schmidt, who each played a meaningful role in his life.
Brian was deeply loved by a close-knit family, including his aunt Stacey Standridge (Jeff), uncles William (Cathy) and Randy Patton, and extended family members Marty and Karen Thomas, Amanda Smith, and Chelsie Davis. Among those who held a special place in his heart was his niece, Faith Ann Blevins, whom he adored deeply, and his nephews Noah and Connor Varner.
His home was filled with unconditional love—shared not only with his human family, but also with his beloved fur babies: Angel, Reba, Nova, and Jack, who brought him comfort and companionship.
Brian will be remembered for his big heart, his warm smile, and his quiet but powerful presence. He walked through this world with kindness and courage, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brian’s memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and/or The Wounded Warrior Project—two causes close to his heart.
