Brett A. Willever Obituary
Reverend Brett A. “Papa” Willever, I, age 61, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Son of the late Samuel Willever and Flossie Mae Davis, Brett devoted his life to serving the Lord and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout his ministry, he faithfully served as senior pastor of several churches across the United States, touching countless lives with his love for Jesus, his compassion for others, and his unwavering faith.
For Brett, church and family were everything. He never missed an opportunity to speak about the goodness of God or to encourage someone in their walk with Christ. His life was a testimony to his love for his Savior, and he spent his days joyfully spreading the Good News.
Brett was also a musician who loved playing the piano and drums. There was always a song in his heart, and he found great joy in worship. Perhaps one of his greatest treasures was listening to his girls sing beautiful harmonies about Jesus. Those moments were precious to him and reflected the joy and faith that filled his heart.
Above all, Brett cherished his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent simply sitting in his recliner, surrounded by grandbabies, covered in little hugs and kisses while their giggles filled the room. He had a wonderfully funny spirit and a gift for making people laugh. He always had a good story to tell and a way of making those around him feel loved.
At Christmastime, Brett carried on a beloved family tradition of gathering everyone together to read the Christmas story aloud. As he shared the story of the birth of Jesus, his family rejoiced together in the greatest gift of all—the good news that Jesus was born. His faith was not simply something he preached; it was the foundation of the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. Brett is now home with the Savior he loved so dearly, and faithfully served. The song that was always in his heart has become his eternal song, and the Gospel he spent his life proclaiming has now become his glorious reality.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Brett is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Reverend Pamela R. Willever of Jeffersonville; son, Brett Allen Willever, II (Emily); daughters: Anna T. (Willever) Tyler (Jeremiah), and Adrienne Lynette Willever; grandchildren: Benjamin J. and Ramah L. Tyler; sister, Barbara Riordan (Mike); brothers: Tim Willever (Linda), Dusty Willever (Karen), Sam Willever (Kathy), and Stacy Janes; and his additional honorary kiddos: Alberto Valois (Elizabeth), Markus Lewis (Kristen) and Amanda Kelly (Trent).

Brett’s earthly life may have come to an end, but his love, laughter, music, faith, and the Gospel he so faithfully shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His greatest legacy is the many people he pointed toward Jesus.
