Bonnie Jean Sohm, 79, of Louisville, KY, passed away on October 9, 2024. Born on April 13, 1945, she
was the daughter of the late R. E. West and Bonita Deetch.
Bonnie was a dedicated homemaker, known for her love of sports and her commitment to coaching. She
was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame and coached both softball and volleyball. Bonnie was all
about her kids and gave selflessly, even when she had little to give. She was hardworking, considerate,
and respected by all who knew her as a remarkable mother, friend, and teacher of life.
She is survived by her two daughters, Amanda Sohm and Nicole West, and her son, Stephen Sohm
(Angie Collins Sohm). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Richard Still, Mason Blair, Hunter
Kasse and Alyx McClain; brother, Michael West; sisters, Donna Lustenburger and Debbier Napier and a
host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2 PM at the Legacy Nunnelley Chapel, 4327
Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215, with cremation to follow. Visitation will take place from 11 AM until
the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and the love she shared with her family
and friends.
