Bert Matthew Cornelison Jr.

Bert Matthew Cornelison JR, 53, passed from this life on March 15, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky. JR was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on February 3, 1970 to Bert Matthew Cornelison SR and Doris Sego. JR attended Western High School in Louisville. He loved tinkering with cars and was a hard worker. JR went to trucking school and drove big rigs for a while, but eventually returned to his beloved Louisville. During his life he lived in Junction City, Kansas; Baumholder, Germany and Toms River, New Jersey. He was always drawn back to Louisville and family. He had an easy smile, a big appetite and bright blue eyes. JR will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bert is preceded in death by his mother Doris Sego; her husband, Mike Smith; grandparents, Dorothy and Harold Cornelison; and an uncle, Bill Cornelison.

Left to cherish his memory, Bert leaves behind a son, Brandon Matthew; 3 grandchildren; Tyler, Annalyn, and Kailan; brother Mark; father, Bert Matthew SR; step-mother, Sally Marr Cornelison; aunts Brenda Cornelison, Dorothy and Pat Turner; his nieces, Kimberly, Tiffany, and Brittany; nephew, Anthony, and a host of extended family and close friends.

A Memorial service for Mr. Bert Cornelison JR. will be held at 2 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Legacy Funeral Center – Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place from 1 PM to 2 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Inurnment at Clarkson Cemetery to take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 12 PM Central (1 PM Eastern).
