Bernadette "Amoy" Doogarsingh

Bernadette “Amoy” Doogarsingh of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on July 23. 2024. She was born on September 8, 1952 in Barataria, Trinidad. Amoy was the 4th of 5 children of Joseph and Semoy Assam in Trinidad and Tobago.

Amoy met her soulmate Henry in St Thomas US Virgin Islands and was married for 54 years. They moved to Florida and then Indiana where they settled and started a business together in Kentucky.

Our beloved mother was the heart of our family and home. She was known for her love of cooking and her native Trinidadian dishes for all the family. Over the years they loved to travel and almost made it all the way around the world.

In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death a brother, Desmond “Babie” Assam. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Henry Doogarsingh; sons; Daren(Danielle), Derek “Henry” Doogarsingh; daughter, Kali Doogarsingh; siblings, Linda Khelawan(Patrick), Patricia Young(Jackie), Jerry Assam(Crystal); grandchildren, Davia, Avani, Hayden, Anabella, Jazmine, Olive, Mason, Henry.
