Barbara Sue (Scott) Lovings, 81, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away in the afternoon of June 11, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 18, 1944, to parents Rollin Scott and Catherine (Harvey) Scott.

Barbara worked on the assembly line at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She dedicated 30 years of service to the Ammunition Plant before beginning a second career at Dillard’s, where she enjoyed helping customers in the purse, jewelry, and cosmetics departments. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. In her free time, she loved sewing, gardening, and shopping, always finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.

Family was the center of her world. She adored babies and children and treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Christmas was her favorite season, and she delighted in decorating, celebrating, and creating special memories for those around her. She had a lifelong love of horses, especially riding her beloved horse, Sam, and she never met a dog she didn’t love. Drawn to beauty and joy, she had a special fondness for all things that sparkled. Her warmth, generosity, and love for family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, devoted husband, Lonnie Lovings; and sister, Patty Wray Thurman-Watson. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David Coomer, Sr (Marsha); grandchildren, David Coomer, Jr (Morgan), Harold Coomer (Laura), Barbara “Bobbie” Spellman (Troy), Jessica Anderson (Robbie); brother, Billy Scott (Cindy); ten great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Monday, June 15th, at Legacy Funeral Center (921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, IN), from 10:00AM – 11:30AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:30AM. Barbara will be laid to rest by her husband, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
