Barbara Lynn Black

Barbara Lynn Black, 74, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at her home. She was born on May 17, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois daughter of the late Richard L. and Edith (Westman) Swango. Barbara was a great caregiver and a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed shopping trips with her sister, watching her soaps on television and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Black; son, Louie Pena; brother, Richard “Dicky” Boyd. Barbara is survived by her children; Kathy Norris (Jeff), Joey Pena (Tammy), Jeff Black (Jenny), Robert Black (Melissa), former Daughter-in-law, Missy Soete (David); brother, Billy Boyd; sisters, Sharon Kay Wright and Sandy Fleming; along with nine grandchildren, Megan Amaya (Andres), Meranda Pena (Michael), Tyler Black (Tara), Kate Keenan (Jon), Meriah Pena (Ben), Jessica Mitchell (Scott), Marissa Black (Langston), Morgan Black (Brayden), and Brandon Black and seven great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank Adaptive Hospice for all the support especially her aide Jessica.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3-8pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11am with visitation before from 9-11 at Legacy Funeral Center with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
